Since 1936, the Portland, TN Rotary Club has been a dedicated part of our community and Rotary International. Sponsor a Child for Safety Santa


Every child deserves the excitement of picking out a special Christmas gift, the warmth of a new winter coat, and the joy of knowing their community cares.
Each year, the Portland Rotary Club partners with the Portland Police Department and local first responders to provide children in need with an unforgettable Shop with a Cop experience. More than a shopping trip, it's an opportunity to build positive relationships, create lasting memories, and remind every child that they are valued.
Every Gift Makes a DifferenceWhether you choose to sponsor one child or make a larger gift, every donation helps us reach more local children.
  • $300 sponsors a complete shopping experience for one child.
  • $1,500 provides shopping experiences for approximately five children.
  • $3,000 sponsors approximately ten children.
  • Any amount is appreciated and helps us move closer to our goal of serving 30 local children this Christmas.

​Storybook Trail


The Portland Storybook Trail is open year-round, providing children with a fun outdoor activity that promotes literacy and healthy habits — 365 days a year!
Our last book change was July 11, 2026!
Special thanks to the Portland City Parks and Recreation Department for their continued support in installing and maintaining the trail.

​The Four Way Test

​​Since the beginning, Rotary has stood for strong ethical values, and one of the most enduring examples of that is The Four-Way Test. Originally written in 1932 by Rotarian Herbert J. Taylor to help rescue a struggling business, this simple 24 word test became a powerful ethical compass in the workplace. It was officially adopted by Rotary in 1943 and has since been translated into over 100 languages, continuing to shape the way Rotarians think, speak, and act. Today, it’s more than just a set of questions—it’s a way of life grounded in integrity, fairness, and truth. In that spirit, we’re proud to carry on this legacy through our Four-Way Test Speech Contest.  Our 2026 winner took 2nd Place at the district level!
