📖 Portland Storybook Trail
The Storybook Trail is a free, family-friendly outdoor experience that combines early literacy with physical activity. As families walk along the trail, they can read a children’s book displayed page by page in weatherproof panels — encouraging outdoor activity and a love for reading.
Kick Off Fireworks in the Park with a New Story!
Before the music, food, contests, and fireworks begin, join the Rotary Club of Portland as we celebrate the unveiling of the newest Portland Storybook Trail book!
📅 Saturday, July 11
🕓 4:00 PM
📍 Richland Park – Storybook Trail
We're excited to introduce America's Birthday Wish – Celebrating 250 Years of People Helping People, created especially for the Portland Storybook Trail to celebrate America's 250th birthday and inspire children through kindness, service, and community.
After the ribbon cutting, stick around and enjoy everything Highland Volunteer Fire Department's Fireworks in the Park has to offer:
🎶 Live music
🌭 Food vendors
🌭 Hot Dog Eating Contest
🎆 Fireworks after dark
While you're here, enjoy:
📖 A first walk through the new Storybook Trail
🍉 Free watermelon
📚 Free children's books (while supplies last)
Make an afternoon and evening of it—we'd love to see you help us celebrate literacy before enjoying one of Portland's favorite summer traditions!
❤️ Admission is free. Bring the whole family!
